Carry your WordPress blog in your pocket or purse

For those of us who are always on the go WordPress has come to the rescue. WordPress for Android is available for free in the Android Market. The most recent version 1.3.2 was released this morning to correct some minor bugs.

How cool is that to update your WordPress blog while on the go? Now you can blog and not be tied down to a desktop or even a laptop PC. Just pull out your Android phone and update your readers wherever you are located. You could be in the Bahamas enjoying the beach and replying to your reader comments. If an idea for a post hits you then you no longer have to wait until you are back at your PC. Just whip out your phone and type away using WordPress to-go for Android.

Just add the URL of your blog along with your login username plus password and the application will load your WordPress blog data, comments, post, stats and anything related to your blog. You can add both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress.org blogs to the mix.

Review previous post, edit a past post or even add a new blog post right from your Android phone. I would recommend a good speech-to-text application to make posting a little easier.

Approve comment, reply to comments or mark as spam right from your Android phone. Moderate several comments all at once with a click of the checkbox next to the comments you want to moderate. Then assign the status of those comments and you’re done.

Mobile podcasting just got a lot easier for Android smartphone users.

Yesterday we released a new Cinch app for Google’s fast-growing operating system. The free, downloadable software sports the same great features as the Cinch iPhone app released last year.

(Cinch is of course BlogTalkRadio’s sister community, which allows users to share Twitter-like audio dispatches, along with text and images.)

Now recording audio on the go with is a snap, to say nothing of sharing it via Facebook, Twitter and CinchCast.com.

Job Search USA for Android – a job search tool for those on the go

Millions of Americans are still out of work and things aren’t improving fast. But help has arrived for those job searchers using Android phones. Now you can search through hundreds of job listings right from your Android phone with Job Search USA.

Once you’ve downloaded the app you need to visit the Voolkan.com website and upload your resume. When you are logged onto the app your resume is sent automatically when you apply for a job.

Browse though job listings or search for a specific type of job by keywords. You can add a generic cover letter under settings and modify if for each job before you send your information to a prospective employer.

Job listings are pulled from 6 of the top job listing sites including CareerBuilder, Craigslist and Simply Hired. Below is an example of how job listing information displays on your phone. You have the option to apply right from the phone or email yourself a copy of the job listing for future reference.
